More About My Friends
I work with a Montessori school located in the outskirts of Chennai, India. It houses and educates nearly 500 underprivileged kids and has been near and dear to me for over 5 years. The school is built specifically to educate the children of panhandlers. Almost every year, I visit the school and try to contribute as much as I personally can. I have also been working with them to support their educational pursuits. Right now, the school is in a lot of distress. While some students on campus have access to wifi and can continue learning, several have been sent back home due to the COVID-19 nationwide lockdown in India and do not have access to remote learning technology. They are also experiencing financial hardship during these difficult times. Currently, I’m planning on developing a few sessions that will teach them about the virus and the best practices to adopt to curtail its spread, while I also plan to add a bit of Good News whenever I can! If you would like to support the school, please contact me for more details: covid19awarenessandinformation@gmail.com.
